Jerome Keene, Senior Planner, is the latest QK planning team member to pass the rigorous test for the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). This accomplishment is the result of a long and arduous studying and Jerome’s many years of experience with a wide variety of planning projects. The AICP is the American Planning Association’s professional institute that provides the only nationwide, independent verification of a planners’ qualifications. Planners with an AICP certification have verified that they meet the academic qualifications, relevant work experience, and mastery of essential skills required to serve their communities effectively.

Jerome has over 10 years of planning experience in both the private and public sector. He has reviewed a number of large development projects, prepared CEQA compliance documents and implemented, maintained, and written Zoning Ordinances and General Plan documents in accordance with State Law for multiple agencies. Jerome has also processed annexation requests in addition to writing and reviewing Municipal Service Reviews for a number of cities and special districts for submittal to, and on the behalf of, Local Agency Formation Commissions (LAFCo). He is also proficient in the use of GIS and has provided services for public agencies that include map creation, data collection and analysis, geoprocessing, and creation of geodatabases. Prior to joining QK in 2013, Jerome worked for the Madera County Planning Department, as well as the Madera County LAFCo.

Jerome is an active member of the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) Central Valley Chapter, as well as the American Planning Association (APA). As a graduate of California State University, Fresno, Jerome is continuing his education and is expected to graduate this year with a MAS degree in Community Development from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
