How We Serve

QK is One Connected Team, working in partnership with our clients and communities to make the built environment possible. We do this by providing a broad range of professional services required to plan, permit, and design sustainable infrastructure. From feasibility and environmental permitting, to survey, civil engineering, and construction management, QK’s team of registered professionals work together to make sure our clients experience complete satisfaction with each and every project, however, they choose to measure success.

Civil Engineering

QK is a leader in providing civil engineering services in the San Joaquin Valley. We’ve been helping public and private sector clients for nearly 50 years and our team of licensed professionals has expertise in all critical subdisciplines of civil engineering.

Land Surveying

Our team of licensed land surveyors offers critical support to public and private clients throughout California, specializing in topographic, ALTA, boundary, and construction control surveys. In addition, the use of low altitude, high-resolution photogrammetry can provide significant benefits on a multitude of engineering, land surveying, biology, and construction management projects. QK’s advanced Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) mapping capabilities include a fleet of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)/ drones and a team of FAA-licensed UAV (drone) pilots.

Construction Management

QK’s highly qualified construction personnel specialize in a full range of pre-construction, construction, and postconstruction-phase services including construction procurement, observation and monitoring, resident project representation, construction management, construction administration, and labor compliance for all types of projects.

QK’s environmental planning team is experienced in the preparation of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and required technical studies including, but not limited to, Environmental Impact Reports (EIR), Initial Studies/ Mitigated Negative Declarations (IS/MND), Categorical Exemptions, Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusions, and Findings of No Significant Impacts (FONSI).

ENVIRONMENTAL PERMITTING: We help our clients by providing full technical analysis and complete project support for local, state, and federal biological resource permitting required by agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Regional Water Quality Control Board, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and more.

QK’s biology team provides ecological and biological services including delineations of State and federal wetlands and other waters, analyses of wetlands functions and values, biological constraints analyses and reconnaissance-level biological surveys, protocol level special-status species surveys, and mitigation monitoring and reporting for projects under construction.

Land Use Planning

QK’s expertise in land use and policy planning helps our clients by proposing common-sense solutions to complex problems.

Our plans promote efficient and sustainable land development, incorporate development and redevelopment patterns that optimize existing infrastructure investments, and consume less land that can then remain available for agriculture, open space, and natural systems.

Landscape Architecture

QK’s experienced landscape architecture team helps clients with a broad range of services including the design of pocket and regional parks and playfields, bicycle and pedestrian trails, streetscapes, and open space and sitting areas inside residential and commercial developments. And as part of a statewide effort to reduce water waste, our team keeps up-to-date on the current Model Water Efficiency Landscape Ordinance (MWELO).

Urban Design

Urban Design is the multi-disciplinary process of shaping the physical environment for life in cities, towns, and villages. QK’s collaborative team melds design, urban planning policy, landscape architecture, transportation planning, and civil engineering to create urban places where people can live, work, shop, play, and relax.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Our user-based GIS approach helps clients visualize, analyze, interpret, integrate, map, and maintain clear pictures of their asset locations in public works and engineering, telecommunications, utilities, and transportation. Up-to-date GIS data helps guide decision making for capital improvements, urban and regional planning, natural resource management, environmental monitoring, oil/gas/mineral exploration, and renewable energy. QK is an ESRI Partner, and can use new or existing data to build web-based GIS services using ArcGIS Online.
