ALL-WEATHER TRACK & FIELD
COLLEGE OF THE SEQUOIAS – VISALIA, CA
When designing the track & field, QK used synthetic materials to create a venue that was attractive, safe, and accessible for student athletes. The running track is made of polyurethane rubber on top of an asphaltic base. The football/soccer field is made of synthetic turf over cushioned backing for all-weather use and injury prevention. The design features an on-site subsurface drainage system that transports water from the surface of the field to the landscaped adjacent bio swales, with a safe major storm overflow to the municipal drainage system.
QK also provided services for topographic surveying and base map development, civil engineering, landscape and irrigation design, bidding assistance, construction staking, environmental processing and approvals, off-site utility coordination, storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) development, dust control compliance, as well as construction observation, final inspection, and project closeout.
The College of the Sequoias needed a modern, all-weather upgrade to their existing sports facilities.
Our final design was tailored to the college’s needs and met NCAA requirements and specifications.
